HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR FLOWERS?

Are you wondering how you could make your flowers live longer?

Your bouquet can be left in it’s aqua pack for up to 48 hours, after this the water will need to be changed. (if you have a basket, just simply top this up with fresh water mixed with flower food.)

Below are steps to follow, that we recommend everybody does to extend how long you can keep your beautiful florals...

1. A clean vase
Always start by cleaning your chosen vase thoroughly to make sure there is no bacteria present (as this will make your flowers wilt faster.)
We do not recommend using a metal or galvanized container unless it has a liner inside.

2. Fill your vase with water then add your flower food
Fill the vase with lukewarm water, two thirds of the vase, and add your flower food (follow directions on packet for the right water to food ratio).
DO NOT use softened water as the salt levels can be damaging for the flowers.

3. Remove any leaves that would fall below the water level
This prevents debris in the water which will make the florals wilt faster.
If your flowers include roses, you may notice some discoloured outer petals. This does not mean they are wilting! These are guard petals, which protect the inner petals. Gently remove 2-3 guard petals to reveal the newly fresh roses.

4. Trim your stems
Trim about 2-3cm from the bottom of the stems at a 45-degree angle (slanted) this makes the surface area at the bottom of the stem larger so they can drink more water! We recommend varying the stem length to give your arrangement a height range.

5. Place flowers immediately into your prepared vase

6. Be careful not to get water on the flower flooms

7. Always place your flowers away from direct sunlight, extreme cold, heat and drafts

8. Check the water level daily and repeat steps 1-5 every 2-3 days so the flowers stay fresh, also remove any wilted flowers. Besides not looking as attractive, they can spread mould onto the others

9. Most importantly – ENJOY!
