It might be only a month since our last 50/50 challenge update but our star fundraiser has packed the challenges in!

Now on challenge 28, not a weekend has been wasted! Here's a round up...

Clay Pigeon Shooting

Taking on the shooting range for her 22nd challenge, Michelle was gifted this experience as one of her 50th birthday presents. Arming herself with a rifle in the great outdoors - she was guided through 30 rounds of shooting until she got the knack.

World's Fastest Zip Wire

Plummeting 821 metres over a disused quarry, Michelle and her partner in crime experienced the closest thing to flying!

Stood on the platform looking nervously over the edge, Shell knew there was no turning back once they were harnessed up with their Go Pros switched on - they awaited the final countdown.

Hesitantly calling out to her partner Mark to say something encouraging, it felt like an eternity before the go ahead was given and they were released. Almost Immediately, she realised she was no longer terrified - it was pure exhilaration. Worth all of the anticipation - this was actually a challenge they could enjoy whilst raising £200 in the process, thanks to the kind support of friends, family and customers.

Pont Dance

This annual event saw UK Rockabilly band Memphis Cruisers get the crowds up to dance at our beautiful town hall. Packed full of locals looking for a night full of soul and good vibes. With all proceeds going to The Prince of Wales Hospice, the event also saw donations come from the raffle and bottle tombola.

The incredible outfits and moves were captured by our super-generous and talented photographer friend Nick of Nicholas Teal Photography who has generously given his time on numerous occasions. Thank you Nick!

Ackworth Pram Race

From start to finish, Shell; her partner Mark and Saturday girl Sydney had a ball at the bank holiday pram race. Decorating a wheelchair donated by a customer; Shell put her creative flair to work with this Flower Pot Men inspired ensemble. Running through the Summer heat with plant pots attached to their legs - their fancy dress might not have been the most practical but it definitely got the most attention winning 'Best Fancy Dress'.

As always, it's not the winning - it's the community spirit that makes it all worthwhile.  A total of £356 was raised by crowds cheering the racers on...

Summer Garden Party

A glorious August Bank Holiday weekend - the Monday saw friends of the shop, Vic and Annette of Rainford Interiors host a garden party at their beautiful home with live music from the fabulous Tiffany Belle and Andy. Scrumptious homemade sandwiches and cakes were served alongside a raffle and tombola.

This fab event raised £1500, which was then generously rounded up to £2k by the Rainfords. A HUGE Thank you!

Starlight Walk

An event that never fails to bring a warmth to our bones - this year's Star Light Walk took Michelle and friends on a 6 mile walk in Sherburn. A huge thank you to her lovely cousin Diane for getting sponsors in aid of the 50/50 challenge - she raised a grand total of £250.

.........

Having reached over £20k - we're well on our way to achieving the target of £30k. As ever, we're super grateful for donations - pennies equal pounds!

With so many tombolas and raffles on our agenda, every little helps.
