Michelle, from Michelle’s Flowers Ltd in Pontefract, put on another of her amazing, entertaining and inspiring floral demonstrations. All the creations made during the hour were raffled off to raise funds for the Prince of Wales Hospice, giving everyone the chance to win a fabulous floral bargain.
Customers and friends who know Michelle’s Flowers will not be surprised to see them at local events, joining in to support or help raise funds for the community close to their hearts. This was the inspiration behind organising The Festive Florals at Pontefract Town Hall. Michelle Granger and her team organised the event to generate all-important funds for the hospice.
The Town Hall was transformed into a wonderful Christmas fair with wide-ranging appeal from local business.
Everyone’s attention was on the main stage, watching Michelle going through final preparations for the display.
Michelle shared her passion and commitment, to helping the Prince of Wales, and explaining the incredible efforts that she and her team have undertaken for the cause over the years. With hardly a seat vacant in the building for the night’s event, you can see why Michelle’s Flowers has accumulated an incredible £25,000 in donations since supporting the charity. This is valuable to the hospice as fundraising is an ongoing concern. The hospice needs to raise 70% of the annual £2million they need to provide care free of charge to those in need.
The demonstration shared tips and techniques required to array flowers to the standard she displays day in, day out in her shop. From wonderful festive table centre pieces, to Christmas wreaths for the front door and oversized crackers that contain holiday traditional evergreens and colours. Each demonstration gave the audience inspiration to try what we had witnessed on the stage at home.
You could see the delight expressed by the people in attendance at being in the company of Michelle, picking up points, suggestions and interesting facts about arranging flowers. Everyone loved Michelle’s very professional, humorous and engaging delivery of her topic, as the beautiful floral arrangements took shape before us.
The night had a great feel, everyone playing a part in accomplishing the main purpose of the event, supporting the Prince of Wales Hospice.
Thank you to everyone who attended, a great turnout!
